Great Links to save you money

Postby Just a Tinch » Thu Dec 27, 2012 1:54 pm

Are we allowed to post links to sites where we can get really good prices on boat doo-dads that we all use and need?
Especially maintenance and repair stuff??

Sure. Unless you stand to profit directly from purchases made made. IE: Your own site, Affiliate links, etc.

Thanks.... No I am fully retired...have no financial interest in any of them. Just thought I could share some of the savings I've managed to find...... like the following:

http://www.hopkins-carter.com/rarefieltse.html Its where I get my Racor filters....

http://www.merrittsupply.com/category/3 ... sives.aspx Its where I get my Sikaflex adhesives...and they also have good deals on 3m products and others....

http://www.supershipbottom.com/ I used their bottom paint at my last haulout, and so far so good. Highly recommended and its made in Fort Myers, FL...nice people...good prices!!

If its OK with you, as I think of others, I'll post them....... Just gotta save a dollar where you can!!

Is it possible to make a sticky out of this? I'am sure I'll be looking for something here in the future.

Good idea. A resource section of some kind would be very helpful to those of us who haven't developed contacts for boat parts. Some of our contacts may change whenever moving or changing boats.

Recently....a couple of weeks ago, I went to the St. Pete boat show....and I was talking to this nice fellow...who was selling this magic potion to clean stainless steel and get rid of the rust...... Well, me being the skeptic I am...I bother him with a herd of questions...and expect him any minute to tell me to "go away". But lo and behold....he tells me: If you buy my product, and you are not happy with it....I will refund your money entirely. So I bought a quart of his product.

I used it, it performs as claimed...and it did so well that I ordered two more quarts....this boat has a lot of stainless on it. Here's a link to the product:

http://spotlessstainless.com/

And it is truly "no-brainer" to use it....even I managed it!! 8-)

Just wanted to point out a place to find parts or maybe a free dingy.
This guy wants to get rid of his project boat in SC, either someone takes the teak and mohagany or it's going on the fire pit.
