looking for livaboard marina in chesapeake bay

Postby c37725 » Fri Sep 07, 2018 1:11 am

We will be moving aboard a Broadblue 42 cat soon and are looking for a marina. Right now, we are starting with those that allow livaboards and will whittle it down from there. It is a tedious search, so any help would be appreciated.

There are a lot of options on the Chesapeake. We were live aboards at the Bay Bridge Marine for several years but they are a bit pricey. Finding a slip for a cat can be a challenge where ever go though. Good luck!

Can you narrow the search a bit. Eastern shore or to the west? 'north or south of the Potomac? We've spent a long time in the Chesapeake with many good marinas.
Take care and joy, Aythya crew

Heck of a boat, that Broadblue. Hope you’re not aboard too soon though. With Florance coming, you might be looking for a hurricane hole instead.

Before we decided to stay in Florida where we had paid the sales tax on our new purchase we had planned to move the boat to Saltponds marina in Hampton Va, exceptionally sheltered but direct access to Chesapeake bay unless you have huge draught. back in 2012 it was affordable and accepted liveaboards, cannoy vouch for now however.

Mark my words, it will be dark again by nightfall :)
