The invasion begins!!

Once a year, my little island of Fernandina Beach,Fl goes from 12,000 to between 150,000-300,000, depending on the weather :shock: .. And this weekend the forecast is for perfect weather!!!

I will not be there. I do not like crowds. I stay home on the weekends because the invasion never ends.

Looking like a great weekend weather wise.... People can expect a 2-3 HOUR ride from I-95 to The Island.... :shock:

Ah, the Shrimp Festival! Nancie's going with a girlfriend. They'll be spending most of their time shopping. I eat shrimp without a huge mass of people,- usually just one or two people and 20 or 30 shrimp!

Your Vessel Info: We live on a 40ft 1986 Birchwood TS37 which has been updated twin 260hp Yanmar diesels. Semi displacement shallow keel, 15kts cruise, 20kts WOT.

It's the other way around down here. The season is ending now, and the traffic/crowds are leaving. Heck, I actually got a parking spot at the Super Market today.!

It always amazes me when I am shown how a phrase can be interpreted differently than intended. This gave me a great laugh! I'm reminded of my college days and a time when I handed my term paper to the professor. As he accepted my work he said, "I'll waste no time in reading it."

:D :D I have a twisted min that reads literally first, often missing the real point totally ;)
