Best, most hopeful Red Tide map since after Michael passed by. The only red dot is a persistant spot near Cortez.

Still planning for the Loop in late March. 2018 was such a looser. Red Tide, serious dental issues, two trips to Germany and some passing of friends really poked some big holes in our plans this year. Hoping to make 2019 something more creative than reactive.

The news this morning stated that none of the samples taken by the FWC showed ANY incidence of red tide. I think we're done until it gets warm again! :D :D

Yeah, it’s been clean around here for six weeks or more. The Admiral is still pretty serious about leaving the Gulf Coast FL, but is leaning more toward some serious cruising in April and perhaps a wait-and-see for the rest of 2019.

The Admiral is back in Germany for a month or so, but wants to cruise when she gets back. We should be heading out by the end of April. Where are you going to be?

Well, as it turns out, there may be other factors that control the intensity of Red Tide blooms. New data:

So far, so good. The Admiral hasn’t had any effects so far, but we were actually visiting some places north on the Gulf coast “just in case”. We’re also planning a jaunt over to the east coast in June. From that point, we may head up the coast or buddy boat over to the Bahamas. Who knows...maybe we’ll just stay.

I heard it is not effecting the breathing at this time. The red tide made it to South Daytona last year. You need to move before breathing effected. Boats are heading north. Virginia is nice in the summer.

I have some friends coming from Texas. How is the red tide around Sarasota right now?

So far, unnoticeable. Believe me, if it were even slight, my Admiral would be telling me about it!
