Rustolium for deck paint?

Unread postby tex » Tue Mar 19, 2019 1:11 am

I just spoke to a friend who recently had his deck painted in a yard over here on Gulf Coast, FL. The yard chose Rustolium paint for the job, claiming it had superb wear and UV resistance. Has anyone tried this? My deck could dure useit, but it has a molded-in non skid that’s going to be a sanding nightmare.

I always think of rustolium as more for metal than fiberglass.

Any new thoughts on Rustolium, Tex? I have not used it, so can not make a recommendation. I do have a friend that just had her topsides painted with something from Sherwin Williams that looked really professional. Pretty impressive actually! Maybe we don't have to use Interlux or Petit? I have a friend here that has done an outstanding job on his deck with Alex Seal. Brushed on...it looks amazing. I am not sure of the cost, only the results. Probably going to paint our decks as soon as the weather behaves!

Well, the Rustolium was actually used by the Yard, not the owner. This owner has the $$$ to paint his deck with gold if he wanted to. The yard isn’t too far from here so I think I’ll stop and ask which product they used. My guess is it’s probably a wear and UV resistant playground paint.
